A walk through the woods was all he needed,
A wide open trail that was left unimpeded
By travelers and time, the woods had succeeded
In giving him respite before life receded.
A troubling world had caused him to make,
The decision to leave it all in his wake.
And that’s why he left it, it was no mistake,
He knew Nature would bend him but never break
His spirit, his wildness, a flame that burns on,
He was nobody’s puppet, nobody’s pawn.
So he would keep going, until he was gone,
To see the next day, to see the next dawn.
Life is a journey, he knew it was flowing,
Like a river of memories constantly growing,
And so he kept walking, his pace never slowing,
It’s the journey he thought, I have to keep going.
A walk through the woods was all that he sought,
To bring back the memories of all he was taught,
As he walked on the trail with nary a thought,
No matter the briars that constantly caught,
At his pants and his jacket as he glided by,
He knew he was free as the hawk in the sky,
For it was his struggle, his alone to try,
And his spirit rebounded and started to fly.
A wide open trail that was left unimpeded
By travelers and time, the woods had succeeded
In giving him respite before life receded.
A troubling world had caused him to make,
The decision to leave it all in his wake.
And that’s why he left it, it was no mistake,
