My Simple Wish
What scares me most is not a thing,
It’s not a place, it has no sting.
What scares me most, it haunts my dreams,
Haunts my life, makes me scream.
Is losing you, us parting ways,
Separate lives and passing days,
A life without you, so depressing.
My love for you, I am confessing.
My fear is simple, heartfelt and true,
My fear is large, piercing through
My heart and soul, it’s sad to say,
Broken pieces, cast away.
But all it takes to make me whole,
Renew my heart, refresh my soul,
One look from you, a simple smile,
Makes everything in life worthwhile.
I’m not afraid of getting old,
Losing step or growing cold,
I’m not afraid of even dying,
It’s not my wish, I’m not denying.
My simple wish, my heart’s desire.
The one thing to set my soul on fire,
To hear your voice, speaking true,
Three simple words – I love you.
It’s not a place, it has no sting.
What scares me most, it haunts my dreams,
Haunts my life, makes me scream.
Is losing you, us parting ways,
Separate lives and passing days,
A life without you, so depressing.
My love for you, I am confessing.

Beauty Walks Beside Me
She walks alone in moonlight, a beauty to behold.
Her footsteps trail across my heart, a story still untold.
My breath she takes, my heart it aches, it never does grow old.
I long to see her every night, if I may be so bold.
She walks in grace, so easily, my heart begins to race,
A lovely face smiles back at me, I never will erase,
The precious memories I treasure, I never will replace.
I hold them close so tenderly, locked in my embrace.
Captivated by her smile, my breath I cannot take,
I watch with great abandonment, my gaze I cannot break,
Her laugh intoxicates me, when I’m asleep and I’m awake,
I can never get enough of her, in this there’s no mistake.
Because her face is etched into my soul, a mark upon my heart,
More than just a memory, her essence is a part,
Of everything thing that makes me, she’s a living piece of art.
I know it is our destiny, we'll never be apart.
Her footsteps trail across my heart, a story still untold.
My breath she takes, my heart it aches, it never does grow old.
I long to see her every night, if I may be so bold.

My Love For You Will Never Die
It started quietly long ago, long before I kissed you.
It started softly, like gentle snow, my heart began anew.
Slowly at first but gaining speed, my heart began to race,
And leap and jump and dance about whenever I saw your face.
An angel had descended and landed next to me.
An angel most beautiful to walk beside of me.
Your beauty shone from inside, radiating out.
Your eyes, your smile, your lovely face made me want to shout,
“How beautiful! How Lovely!” I wanted to the world to see.
The most beautiful woman in the world is walking next to me.
My love for you is boundless, like the ocean overflowing.
It swells and leaps and rushes in, it always keeps on growing.
No matter if I’m pushed away. or given not a chance.
I cannot change the way I feel, I cannot stop this dance.
Because I love you with all my heart, you are a part of me.
I can’t stop now, impossible, you hold the master key.
I’ll love and love and love you although the end be near.
And then I’ll keeping on loving you because I hold you here,
Inside my heart, so tenderly, with love and adoration.
It’s much, much more than people think, it’s more than a flirtation.
You’ve been my hope, my constant love, you’ve been my destination.
The place where my hearts always goes, I’m lost in adulation.
You’re everything I wanted, but this I have found out,
You’re more than I imagined, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Your life, your light is beautiful, you warm me with your smile.
I know your love is wonderful, so pure and most worthwhile.
So put obstacles in front of me, or mountains I have to climb.
Because I’ll love and keep on loving you, until the end of time.
In this complicated world, always know that this is true.
No matter what, no matter what, I will always, always love you.

Solitary Travels
I walk to the wild places where nobody goes.
I look for the world that nobody knows.
I am high on the mountainside, solitude abounds,
I’m close to the sky, far away from the ground.
My soul to satisfy, that is my goal,
I’m continually trying to make myself whole.
So I’ll keep on walking way up in the clouds,
I’ll keep on walking far from the crowds.
The Open Door Never Closes
The revolving door never closes,
Going round and round, no one opposes,
Where travelers go no one supposes,
The ins and outs it all exposes.
The sliding door is constant motion,
Each door giving its own devotion ,
To the other door showing a sweet emotion,
It’s a strong attraction, more than a notion.
Doors of every kind are in our life,
They open with joy and close with strife,
Closing off chapters throughout our life,
The closing door is sharp as a knife.
Going round and round, no one opposes,
Where travelers go no one supposes,
The ins and outs it all exposes.
The sliding door is constant motion,
Each door giving its own devotion ,
To the other door showing a sweet emotion,
It’s a strong attraction, more than a notion.
Doors of every kind are in our life,
They open with joy and close with strife,
Closing off chapters throughout our life,
The closing door is sharp as a knife.
A Line in the Sand
Everyone draws their own line in the sand,
A line we won’t cross, we all take a stand.
A lifetime of happenings we don’t understand,
We bend and we bow much more then we planned.
We try not to break, to ever give in,
To stay true to ourselves and hopefully win,
A contest we never thought would begin,
But runs every day like it never has been.
And so to ourselves we stay true to the end,
Our hearts and our hopes continually mend,
We trust in a faith that we dare comprehend,
As we seek to arise and never descend.
A line we won’t cross, we all take a stand.
A lifetime of happenings we don’t understand,
We bend and we bow much more then we planned.
We try not to break, to ever give in,
To stay true to ourselves and hopefully win,

A Wide Open Trail
A walk through the woods was all he needed,
A wide open trail that was left unimpeded
By travelers and time, the woods had succeeded
In giving him respite before life receded.
A troubling world had caused him to make,
The decision to leave it all in his wake.
And that’s why he left it, it was no mistake,
He knew Nature would bend him but never break
His spirit, his wildness, a flame that burns on,
He was nobody’s puppet, nobody’s pawn.
So he would keep going, until he was gone,
To see the next day, to see the next dawn.
Life is a journey, he knew it was flowing,
Like a river of memories constantly growing,
And so he kept walking, his pace never slowing,
It’s the journey he thought, I have to keep going.
A walk through the woods was all that he sought,
To bring back the memories of all he was taught,
As he walked on the trail with nary a thought,
No matter the briars that constantly caught,
At his pants and his jacket as he glided by,
He knew he was free as the hawk in the sky,
For it was his struggle, his alone to try,
And his spirit rebounded and started to fly.
A wide open trail that was left unimpeded
By travelers and time, the woods had succeeded
In giving him respite before life receded.
A troubling world had caused him to make,
The decision to leave it all in his wake.

Each Day
Live the life you love no matter what the cost,
Love the life you live and you’ll never be lost.
Take the path less traveled and you’ll find yourself again,
Mark the path for others so that everyone can win.
We travel through this life alone, cause it’s the price we pay,
But we count our friends as blessings every single day.
Because every day’s a miracle, each one could be our last,
We look towards the future and learn from our past.
But we live in the present, each day a separate jewel,
So appreciate your time today, make this your special rule.
Live the life you love and leave behind no regrets,
And you’ll love the life you lived, that’s as good as it gets.
Love the life you live and you’ll never be lost.
Take the path less traveled and you’ll find yourself again,
Mark the path for others so that everyone can win.

The Crossroads
Standing at the crossroads, no end for me in sight.
I’ve walked a thousand miles just to see the light.
But I never seem to get there, can’t seem to get it right,
No matter how hard I try, I just can’t win this fight.
For now I’ll keep on going, and hope to catch a break,
Trudging along this highway with every step I take.
Lost and lonely out here, this feeling I can’t shake,
On this road forever, this can’t be my last mistake.
Standing at the crossroads, from here I’ve got no clue,
Left or right or straight ahead, who knows what will ensue,
Cause it’s the journey that’s important, and I’m long overdue,
And so I’ll keep on walking, I’ve got to see it through.
I’ve walked a thousand miles just to see the light.
But I never seem to get there, can’t seem to get it right,

The Storm's Fury
There’s a storm a’coming cause I can hear the thunder,
Clouds are blowing in as the lightning makes me wonder,
The light is slowly fading, the wind begins to whip,
I hold on with all my strength as the ship begins to dip.
The storm is now a’raging, the waves are piling high,
I can no longer see the fury, no longer see the sky.
The deafening sound of thunder, I can feel it in my bones,
The ship so old it shudders, the wood so old it groans.
I can tell the ship is sinking as the lightning streaks the sky,
I’m watching as the wind blows, I keep a weather eye.
The mounting waves crash over, the deck is pitching too,
Night is slowly falling like a stranger passing through.
The last thing I remember before the mast fell down,
The last thing I remember as I knew that I would drown,
To carry on my wayward son, never give up the fight,
No matter how the tale ends, no matter how dark the night.
Clouds are blowing in as the lightning makes me wonder,
The light is slowly fading, the wind begins to whip,
I hold on with all my strength as the ship begins to dip.

Crashing In
Waves are rolling always crashing in,
I can’t help it I close my eyes again.
I look once more and guess at what I see,
A brand new day is right in front of me.
The sun is high, I feel it shining down,
The tide is in, my troubles slowly drown.
And I’m so light I know that I can fly,
All my problems slowly pass me by.
The day is building and I know just what to do,
I have to keep pushing just to make it through.
All bets are off, the world is spinning round,
The game is done, the winner has been crowned.
I watch the sun set slowly in the west,
The tide goes out against the night’s protest.
The sky turns black, you wonder where you’ve been,
Waves are rolling always crashing in.
I can’t help it I close my eyes again.
I look once more and guess at what I see,
A brand new day is right in front of me.

The Edge
I’m standing on an edge,
an edge I cannot see,
Looking into the depths,
I peel back history.
I’m going back in time,
To a time I used to know,
Traveling through the ages,
I know where I must go.
Eternity surrounds me,
The veils of time deceive.
Living through the changes,
I know I must believe.
The end is fast approaching,
The pages all unfold.
The book is slowly closing,
The story has been told.
I see the rising miracle,
The truth it has to be.
It takes me to the edge,
The edge inside of me.
an edge I cannot see,
Looking into the depths,
I peel back history.
I’m going back in time,
To a time I used to know,

Back Roads
Traveling down these back roads,
Watching the miles roll by.
Red tail lights in the distance,
Lighting up against the sky.
I’m getting closer by the minute,
I know I’m going home.
Town after town I drive through,
They all look the same.
Passing through these small towns,
I don’t even know their name.
Pushing harder now than ever,
I know I’m going home.
Out there in the distance,
I know just where I’ll head.
My driving will be over,
I’ll no longer be mislead.
Leaving the road behind me,
I know I’m going home.
It’s not too late for me now,
This time it’s going to last.
I’ll be this way forever,
The time just goes too fast.
It’s all behind me now babe,
I know that I am home.
Watching the miles roll by.
Red tail lights in the distance,
Lighting up against the sky.
I’m getting closer by the minute,
I know I’m going home.

The Winter Wind
The winter wind came sweeping in, if only for the moment.
Bringing a chill that reminded us still to long for our atonement.
Covering the ground, the snow falls down and slows the hands of time.
My tracks clearly show the path where I go as white erases the grime.
Although Spring is near, Winter’s still here and causes us to pause,
To embrace the cold as it’s foretold and give Mother Nature applause.
