It’s gotten cold! I didn’t realize how cold it really was until I was traveling through Valdese today. I had to run a few errands downtown and just happened to see the fountain in front of the Waldensian Presbyterian Church on Main Street. It was frozen almost solid. Almost, but not quite. A small stream of blue water still bubbled out of the top, cascading down creating more frozen layers. What a dazzling sight to see as the sunshine reflected off of the hundreds of icicles! On one side of the fountain, the water had frozen in strange, amorphic shapes. The closest shape I can compare it to is frozen grapes, hanging from a frozen vine. Once again, I was in the right place at the right time to get a great photograph. And just like last time with the sunset, the only camera I had with me was my cell phone. I’ll learn my lesson one of these days.
